• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, goals, and personal circumstances.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate positive change.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to respond to evolving challenges and successes.
• Engage in integrated care by partnering with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in mood disorders and therapeutic techniques to enhance treatment efficacy.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, following all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and case consultations to enhance collaborative treatment approaches and share best practices.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs by working towards reducing stigma and promoting access to essential services.

This position primarily serves individuals dealing with mood disorders, including those from diverse backgrounds and unique circumstances such as homelessness, refugee status, or domestic abuse experiences. As a therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting these clients through their challenges, helping them regain stability and improve their mental wellbeing.

• Must possess a valid, active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate trusting relationships with clients.
• Exhibit empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental demeanor towards clients’ experiences and struggles.
• Possess strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a busy caseload and administrative responsibilities effectively.

• Prior experience in a clinical setting working with mood disorders and diverse populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and techniques for working with marginalized groups.
• Experience in using telehealth platforms for therapy sessions as this is essential in a remote work environment.
