Job description

 Honeywell's Security and Access Solutions business provides high-value security products and services that are critical for buildings around the globe. You will report directly to our Software Engineer Manager, and you'll work out of our Pittsford, NY or Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Honeywell's Security and Access Solutions business provides high-value security products and services that are critical for buildings around the globe. Building operators and security teams across dynamically evolving verticals depend on our mobile- and cloud-enabled technologies for access control, intrusion detection, and locking solutions to help create safer and more efficient facilities.

We are seeking a skilled software engineer with a strong background in automation and orchestration, along with a passion for enhancing developer experience, to join our Cloud Solutions group. In this role, you will build internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, automation frameworks, and engineering workflows that enable product teams to deliver software faster and more reliably. 

The ideal candidate is self-directed, able to navigate ambiguity, and capable of driving technical initiatives with minimal supervision. This role requires collaboration with a global team to support our Azure-hosted security products and platforms. The person in this position will work closely with the engineering team throughout all stages of product development. The contributions of this role will be vital in ensuring the highest levels of reliability, availability, and performance as demanded by our customers who rely on our advanced physical security solutions.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field required, significant technical experience can be substituted.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience building automated delivery pipelines.
  • Experience developing or maintaining software in at least one language (TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python, Java etc.)
  • Familiarity with event-driven and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with RESTful API endpoints to facilitate seamless data exchange and integration between various applications and services.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of Git or similar version management tools.
  • Passion for automation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working on a collaborative team.

WE VALUE

  • Experience with developer productivity tooling, platform engineering, observability, or internal developer platforms.
  • Experience developing and maintaining applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with PowerShell, NodeJS, Kusto, or Groovy.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos, Dynamo, Redis or similar).
  • Knowledge of both serverless and container-based application deployment models.

The annual base salary range for this position is $121,000.00 - $151,00.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
