About RTFNetwork:
RTFNetwork is a mission-driven behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality, client-centered care to underserved communities. We offer outpatient mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation, therapy, and soon, substance use disorder services. We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis - focused solely on patient care, with no supervisory duties.


Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care to children, adolescents, and/or adults on a flexible, as-needed basis. This is a clinical-only role without administrative or supervisory responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for clients of all ages (children, adolescents, adults) as scheduled.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that align with the client's goals, clinical needs, and best practices.
  • Provide medication management services, including prescribing, titrating, and monitoring psychotropic medications for effectiveness, side effects, and adherence.
  • Conduct ongoing psychiatric follow-up appointments to assess progress, adjust medications, and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Offer psychoeducation to clients and families about diagnoses, medications, potential side effects, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, psychiatric rehabilitation staff, case managers, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) according to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations when appropriate to support integrated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed, including safety planning and referrals to higher levels of care when appropriate.
  • Stay current with evidence-based psychiatric practices, state regulations, and professional standards through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications:

  • For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
    • Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing with a psychiatric specialization (PMHNP-BC).
    • Active Maryland RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
    • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • For Psychiatrist:
    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Active Maryland medical license.
    • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
