PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER (PMHNP)

Godaelli Psychiatry & Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our collaborative clinical team. We are looking for an experienced, autonomous provider who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in a supportive private practice environment.
This position offers scheduling flexibility, allowing clinicians to provide care through a combination of in-office and telehealth appointments based on patient needs and practitioner preference.
As a PMHNP at Godaelli, you will practice with the support of an experienced administrative and clinical team while maintaining clinical autonomy. You will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and older adults.

POSITION TYPE

• Compensation based on experience and billable client hours: $100- $110 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications.
• Provide supportive psychotherapy and patient counseling.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and self-management strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Current, unrestricted Virginia PMHNP license.
• Must qualify as an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner in Virginia. Under Virginia law, this requires the equivalent of at least three (3) years of full-time clinical experience as a nurse practitioner (5,400 clinical hours). Applicants must hold the autonomous practice designation or be eligible to obtain it. This is a required qualification for this position.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Active DEA registration and Virginia controlled substances registration.
• Strong expertise in psychiatric assessment, psychopharmacology, medication management, and evidence-based treatment of mental health disorders.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
