Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Critical Access Hospital
Location: Kansas City, MO Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $120k-$165k
She Recruits is actively seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for an immediate, full-time opportunity with a well-established Critical Access Hospital serving rural communities in the Kansas City, MO area. This role is ideal for a provider looking to make a meaningful impact on behavioral health care in underserved areas while enjoying a manageable patient volume and competitive compensation above the Kansas City market average.
Position Highlights:
  • Behavioral Health & Medication Management: Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and behavioral health services at Rural Health Clinics located in Atchison and Hiawatha hospitals.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Work within the IOP programs at each location, leading therapy sessions and providing psychiatric support for patients requiring structured outpatient care.
  • Patient Volume: Lower-than-average caseload to ensure high-quality patient care and a balanced work environment.
  • Group Therapy & Support: Opportunity to lead or participate in group therapy sessions to foster a supportive treatment environment.
  • Collaborative Team: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Kansas and/or Missouri (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Experience in behavioral health, outpatient psychiatric care, or rural health settings preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for serving rural communities and improving access to mental health care.
