Job description

Hoboken, NJ | Full-Time

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000/year + performance-based incentives on booked weddings / events

We're looking for a highly organized, sales-driven, and hands-on, Event Coordinator and Front of House Manager to run point for weddings, private events, on- and off-site catering, and dining events out of our Hoboken location, home to our newly redesigned, enclosed, year-round rooftop venue (capacity up to 80 guests).

This is a dual role. On the events side, you'll own the full lifecycle of private bookings — from first inquiry to final invoice — with a strong emphasis on actively growing our wedding and private event pipeline, not just administering it. On the FOH side, you'll be the hands-on leader of our front-of-house team, responsible for hiring, training, and holding staff accountable to service standards.

We move fast, coordinate across multiple systems and teams, and need someone who takes ownership over their work, drives projects from start to finish, and solves hard problems.

What You'll Own:

Event Coordination & Sales

  • Drive new wedding and private event bookings — this is a revenue-generating role with real booking targets, not just administrative coordination. You're expected to proactively pursue leads.

  • Respond to and follow up on all inquiries promptly including warm leads, referrals, and marketing campaigns — within 24–48 hours.

  • Manage the full booking process: deposits, contracts, customized menus, class selection, headcount deadlines, dietary accommodations, and invoicing.

  • Own lead-generation initiatives end-to-end — sourcing materials, managing budget requests, and driving follow-up.

  • Keep all online listings (booking platforms and internal photo albums) current, accurate, and visually up to date on an ongoing basis.

  • Conduct in-person tours and walkthroughs of our event and rooftop spaces.

  • Serve as day-of coordinator for weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and celebrations, including setup and breakdown, working 3–4 events per week.

  • Maintain airtight accuracy across every system we use (Google Suite, AI, booking platforms) and in client-facing communications.

  • Proactively review upcoming event and rental details consistently

Front of House Leadership

  • Hire, train, and manage FOH staff — servers, hosts, and MCs — including training new hires and running regular audits of MC/FOH performance.

  • Build and maintain SOPs for FOH operations, rooftop service, and staff communication, and keep them current.

  • Actively monitor shift reports and staff communication channels, and drive solutions for event issues.

  • Liaise closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, coordinated service.

  • Address guest complaints and feedback professionally and in real time.

  • Oversee seating, reservations, and table turnover to maximize guest satisfaction.

  • Manage FOH supply inventory and daily opening/closing procedures.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous event coordination and/or wedding planning experience required.

  • 2–3+ years in a front-of-house or day-of-event supervisory role in hospitality.

  • A demonstrated track record of proactively generating and closing new business — this role has real booking goals attached to it, and we need someone motivated by hitting them.

  • Strong ownership instincts: you flag problems and solve them before being asked.

  • Excellent judgment and customer service.

  • Meticulous attention to detail — comfortable keeping multiple systems in sync with zero discrepancies.

  • Proven people-management experience: hiring, training, and holding a team accountable.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong, professional relationships with clients and vendors.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.

  • Proficiency in Google Business Suite, Slack, AI platforms and Canva.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Job Requirements:

  • Onsite as FOH 2–4 events per week (majority evenings and weekends).

  • Available for in-person tours and walkthroughs throughout the week.

  • Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

  • Work-from-home options available for administrative work.
