The position spans all phases of the design cycle, including specification development, architecture, circuit design, simulation, layout, verification, silicon bring-up, testing, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Sensor Design & Development

  • Lead and oversee all phases of sensor development, including specification, design, tapeout, testing, and transition to product.
  • Develop sensor architectures and detailed designs that meet customer and product requirements.
  • Perform detailed circuit analysis, design, simulation, layout, and verification of mixed-signal circuits.
  • Ensure designs are executed efficiently and in accordance with technical specifications and project schedules.

Customer & Technical Collaboration

  • Partner with customers to understand application requirements and translate them into detailed sensor specifications.
  • Communicate technical requirements, design status, performance expectations, and project updates to customers and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to execute designs and resolve technical challenges.

Foundry & Product Realization Support

  • Interface with foundry partners to understand process technologies and support successful design implementation.
  • Manage pixel design activities and evaluate pixel performance throughout development.
  • Oversee tapeout and fabrication activities to ensure design readiness and successful execution.
  • Work with test engineering teams to develop test hardware and test plans.
  • Support chip bring-up, characterization, analysis, and validation of silicon performance.

Requirements

Education

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.

Technical Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of practical analog/mixed-signal design experience in image sensors or related fields.
  • Expert-level experience with transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and verification using modern EDA tools such as Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ADC architectures used in image sensor readout applications.
  • Experience with: Bandgap references and bias circuits, operational amplifiers, switched-cap circuits, LDOs, PLLs, SERDES, high-speed TX, feedback and compensation techniques
  • Strong expertise in noise analysis, transistor and capacitor matching, and identifying sources of error in analog integrated circuits.
  • Experience across the complete mixed-signal IC design flow, including DFT, timing analysis, top-level chip integration, tapeout, and silicon bring-up.
  • Prior experience leading a design team is highly preferred.

Professional Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
