What is a home based remote payroll job?

Home based remote payroll jobs involve managing employee compensation, processing timesheets, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and handling other payroll-related tasks, all from a remote location, typically your home. These roles require attention to detail, familiarity with payroll software, and knowledge of relevant labor laws. Many companies offer remote payroll positions to allow flexibility and access to a wider talent pool. Working in remote payroll can provide a good work-life balance and the opportunity to work for companies outside your immediate geographic area.

To thrive as a Home Based Remote Payroll Specialist, you need a solid understanding of payroll regulations, accounting principles, and experience with payroll processing, often supported by a relevant degree or certification such as the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). Familiarity with payroll software like ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks, and secure data transmission tools, is typically required. Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills are vital for accuracy and collaboration in a remote environment. Job description

Inspired by faith. Driven by innovation. Powered by humankindness. CommonSpirit Health is building a healthier future for all through its integrated health services. As one of the nation’s largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, CommonSpirit Health delivers more than 20 million patient encounters annually through more than 2,300 clinics, care sites and 137 hospital-based locations, in addition to its home-based services and virtual care offerings. CommonSpirit has more than 157,000 employees, 45,000 nurses and 25,000 physicians and advanced practice providers across 24 states and contributes more than $4.2 billion annually in charity care, community benefits and unreimbursed government programs. Together with our patients, physicians, partners, and communities, we are creating a more just, equitable, and innovative healthcare delivery system.

As our NRES Project Delivery Project Manager, you will serve as a vital leader within our National Real Estate department, overseeing the end-to-end design and construction lifecycle for critical healthcare capital projects. You will act as the primary liaison between construction teams, facility operations, and leadership to ensure all projects align with CommonSpirit Health’s quality, safety, and budgetary standards. By utilizing your expertise in project delivery methods and regulatory compliance, you will drive operational excellence and help build the physical environment necessary to support our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare.

Every day you will manage the complexities of large-scale construction initiatives, from developing project scopes, schedules, and financial projections to monitoring site activities for adherence to building codes and specifications. You will facilitate clear, consistent communication across all project stakeholders, proactively managing risks, change orders, and submittals to prevent delays. Whether you are negotiating vendor contracts or coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities, your work will directly ensure that our healthcare facilities are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a deep understanding of healthcare capital project management and the ability to navigate complex construction environments. You possess:

  • A proven ability to own the design and construction process from inception to project closeout while meeting strict scope, schedule, and budgetary goals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, life safety standards, and local/state/federal regulations, with a history of maintaining strong, productive relationships with approving authorities.
  • The ability to serve as a central communication hub, effectively aligning diverse groups including external consultants, on-site construction teams, and internal facility stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in managing project financial projections, tracking capital expenditures, and negotiating vendor fees in alignment with organizational policies.
  • A data-driven approach to risk management, with the ability to identify potential contingencies early and implement cost-effective, timely solutions.

This position is field-based, requiring daily oversight of projects throughout the Utah market. Ideal candidates will reside in the Salt Lake City area to enure consistent on-site coverage between Layton and Lehi.

Required

  • Bachelors in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two plus (2+) years of experience in leading project management design and construction projects.
  • Experience in facilitating project design and construction related meetings and presentations.
  • Experience in developing conceptual project scope, schedules and budgets.
  • Experience with construction processes, building and life safety codes.
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of major healthcare capital projects.

Preferred

  • Knowledge in health facility preconstruction services.
  • Knowledge in equipment planning processes.
  • Lean Process Improvement.
