Job description

PPT Solutions is seeking aPower Platform Architect on site in Huntsville, Alabama.


Responsibilities for the Power Platform Architect:

The Power Platform Architect is critical to the administration, governance, security, and performance of Microsoft Power Platform environments supporting federal government programs.


The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, governance mindset, and collaborative communication skills, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant Power Platform solutions.


Power Platform Administration & Environment Management

  • Administer and manage environments using the Microsoft Power Platform Admin Center, including environments, licensing, and security configurations.
  • Create, monitor, and control the power platform environments, ensuring proper configuration, data policies, and lifecycle management.
  • Support and oversee Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that integrate with Dataverse to enable business processes and applications.
  • Implement platform governance using tools such as the Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit to manage resources, enforce standards, and support platform adoption.


Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Design, configure, and manage Dataverse security roles to control user and team access.
  • Define and enforce granular access controls at the table, record, and column levels to protect sensitive data.
  • Develop and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent unauthorized data sharing and integration with external services.
  • Configure and monitor auditing and logging, regularly reviewing audit logs to ensure compliance with organizational and federal requirements.


Data Management & Integration

  • Design and maintain robust Dataverse data models, including tables, relationships, business rules, and logic.
  • Perform database maintenance activities including bulk data operations, performance optimization, and data retention policies.
  • Integrate Dataverse with external systems using connectors, dataflows, and APIs.
  • Manage data migrations, imports, and exports using tools such as Power Query.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and governance, aligning with organizational and federal data-handling policies.


Collaboration & Support

  • Troubleshoot platform issues related to performance, security, integrations, and data access.
  • Partner with developers, citizen developers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to deliver aligned and scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices to support secure and effective platform usage.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the Power Platform Architect:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Power Platform
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Power Platform Admin Center
    • Dataverse environment and data management
    • Power Apps and Power Automate
    • Power Platform governance and CoE practices
  • Experience with:
    • Security role design and access control
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
    • Auditing and compliance monitoring
    • Data modeling, integrations, and migrations
  • Soft Skills & Competencies
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
    • High level of attention to detail, particularly related to data integrity, security, and compliance.
    • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn in a rapidly evolving technology environment.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
    • Quickly learn and retain routine tasks and processes.
    • Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, business correspondence proficiency, and self-management capabilities.


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the Power Platform Architect:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience or a High School diploma and 8 years of experience


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  1. This job typically operates in a professional office environment with moderate noise level. This role
    routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and
    fax machines. This role may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time. This role may
    require lifting lightweight objects, typically used in an office environment, such as a computer laptop,
    files or copy paper.
  2. For some, acknowledged at hire and in support of specified contract tasks, this role may be required to
    work outside in moderate weather conditions, stand/remain stationary for long hours, and climb in and
    out of vehicles/aircraft. The noise level in this work environment ranges from moderate to loud and may
    require protective devices such as wearing ear plugs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision,
    distance vision and the ability to differentiate between colors.
