Job description

Our Shared Living Program seeks individuals and families willing to share their home or apartment and provide support for an adult with an intellectual disability or autism. Shared living providers develop strong, supportive, often roommate or family-like relationships with the individual in their home. - all while making a real, lasting impact in your community.
With a reputation built on "going the distance," Spurwink has the experience and clinical expertise to help both providers and individuals experience success.
Spurwink provides a laptop computer and printer/scanner/copier in order to support our providers in completing their documentation in our Electronic Medical Record.
This is a CONTRACTED position, not an employed position. Shared living providers receive a generous tax-free stipend for their services plus additional payment for room and board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Direct Support Certification-provided by Spurwink.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification-provided by Spurwink.
  • Shared Living Medication Course or CRMA-provided by Spurwink.
  • All applicants must maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving policy.

A desire to share your home or apartment and help an adult with autism or developmental disabilities develop a meaningful and connected life. Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities preferred.
