Description:

Home Based Clinician โ€“ masterโ€™s level mental health clinician to work in LUKโ€™s Behavioral Health Services division, providing home based counseling through Central Massachusetts. The Home Based Clinician will provide both individual and group counseling to youth, adults, and families through Childrenโ€™s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) Services and/or through home based services contracted by the Department of Children & Families (DCF). Home Based Clinicians will receive weekly licensed supervision, regular training, and opportunities for clinical group supervision and consultation.


Qualifications include Masterโ€™s Degree in mental health, psychology, social work, family therapy, or substance abuse field. Two years of clinical experience working with youth with serious emotional disturbance or mental health diagnosis, and their families,

preferred.

Requirements:

Purpose:


The Home Based Clinician will provide home-based counseling services through LUKโ€™s Behavioral Health Services division. Populations served include youth and adults, and will include both individual and group counseling. Home Based services may include In-Home Therapy through CBHI Services and/or home based services contracted by the Department of Children & Families (DCF).


Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide individual and group counseling and family support with children, youth, adults, and families in a home-based setting
  • Perform intake interviews, as well as investigating histories with appropriate collateral resources. Complete a comprehensive assessment that builds from a familyโ€™s perception of its most salient concerns and identification of its strengths, desires, and needs to support youthโ€™s continued tenure and participation in the community
  • Recognize and acknowledge parent and youth voice and choice, partnering with them and team members in the development of an Individual Action Plan, developing goals, monitoring services, and evaluating progress
  • Perform case management functions including coordinating services, communicating with collateral resources, and maintaining client records. Coordinate care with schools, service providers, and other entities that provide support to assure that the approaches taken are integrated and clinically coherent.
  • Psycho-education for the youth and his/her family about serious emotional disturbance and manifestations of psychiatric disorders and treatment.
  • Family treatment and support interventions that are designed to teach skills and competencies that assist the youth and family to overcome challenges
  • Assist youth and family in linking to services, supports, community resources and opportunities
  • Provide crisis management and intervention as appropriate
  • Facilitate discharge planning for youth and families including aftercare, when appropriate.
  • Work schedule must accommodate the needs of the youth and families
  • Attend all division and team meetings as well as agency trainings as scheduled
  • Participate in the agency On-Call Service Team

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in mental health, psychology, social work, family therapy, or substance abuse counseling
  • 2+ years working with youth with serious emotional disturbance or mental health diagnosis, and their families, preferred
  • Experience working in the human services field preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong clinical skills
  • Knowledge of therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to work independently, with weekly supervision
  • Strong communication skills
  • A demonstrated commitment to the empowerment of children, families, and adolescents to realize their potential
  • Knowledge of state systems a plus
  • Ability to incorporate the agency philosophy of systemic thinking
  • Knowledge of resources within the community to address social policies and concerns for clients
  • Internet access for remote work

Salary Range and Benefits
Independently licensed clinician โ€“ Pay Grade: 8A. Salary Range: $71,000 โ€“ $82,500.
Non-licensed or license eligible clinician โ€“ Pay Grade: 8B. Salary Range: $66,000 โ€“ $77,500.
Salary ranges within each pay grade are based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
