Job description

Construction Project Manager

*Required Medium and High Voltage Electrical Experience Is NON-NEGOTIABLE*

Field & Office-Based | Travel Required (~50+ days/year) | Full-Time

MasTec – Power Delivery / Energy Erectors Inc. is seeking experienced Project Managers to lead electrical construction projects from office or home-based locations while overseeing field operations. This role emphasizes safety, schedule, budget, labor management, customer satisfaction, and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage field operations via Construction Manager, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance
  • Oversee contract administration, including change orders, scope adjustments, and means/methods of work
  • Plan and manage personnel, equipment, and subcontractor resources
  • Maintain accurate cost accounting, reporting, and change order logs
  • Coordinate equipment acquisitions and track costs via Construction Manager
  • Submit monthly cost-to-complete projections and weekly quantity reports
  • Maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships, mitigating risk and cost overruns
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification

Experience:

  • 1–10 years of project management in electrical construction
  • Medium and high-voltage distribution systems, substations (up to 345 kV), AC/DC control systems, and transmission lines
  • Contract management, CPM scheduling, estimating contract changes
  • ViewPoint software experience preferred

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Problem-solving and team-oriented approach
  • Attention to detail and proactive initiative

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 10–50 lbs
  • Able to drive regularly and work up to 14-hour days
  • Travel and occasional consecutive days in the field required
  • Exposure to various weather conditions
