Job description

Overview The Software Developer provides lifecycle software development support for the Nuclear Biological and Chemical Sensor processing Group (NBCSPG), Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS), Chemical Biological Mass Spectrometer (CBMS) Block II, and Joint Services Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detector (JSLSCAD) programs. Responsibilities * Develop and integrate all software updates necessary for lifecycle support of the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS) system software, to include software transition of the Local Computer System (LCS) operating system from Windows to a Linux distribution (i.e., Debian), software maintenance, and updates.
* Maintain traceability to JBPDS software requirements. The Contractor shall conduct software testing for each software revision to verify functionality and requirements traceability.
* Update software documentation as necessary to document any software revisions.
* Maintain laboratory JBPDS hardware configurations including swapping of components and system imaging.
* Troubleshoot application issues as needed. Resolution and timeframe for instituting fixes shall factor in the importance of the system based upon criticality of the system to operational requirements.
* Provide configuration management of all developed software versions.
* Advance the state of the art in tools, techniques, and approaches used through research, Development, and natural system life-cycle processes Qualifications Required: * Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7 years of experience
* Possesses any one of the following IAT I Certifications: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP
* Experience using CAN bus, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Universal Serial Bus (USB), Serial Peripheral Interface Bus (SPI), Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C), Ethernet, Serial ATA (SATA/eSATA), Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE), Thunderbolt, optical interfaces, near field communication, general purpose input/output and analog/digital input/output
