Job description

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a systems engineer for the Tactical Control System program, you’ll be a member of an agile cross functional team responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced submarine systems in support of the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy fleets.

  • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and the engineering process
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle more complex assignments as experience progresses
  • Ability to clearly convey concepts and ideas using written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound systems engineering design
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks while working independently and as part of a team

  • Experience independently executing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and support analysis of system design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and MagicDraw
  • Experience with Agile programs, Agile methodologies, and working on a sprint team
  • Experience drafting system requirements in accordance with good requirement practice
  • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment, and professionally executes projects with assistance from lead and deputy systems engineers.
  • Ability to conduct research on technical implementation and challenges and utilize information gathered to develop solutions and design for complex assignments.
