Position Summary: The ER Registration Clerk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing registration operations in the Emergency Department. This position provides leadership, support, and guidance to registration staff to ensure accurate patient registration, excellent customer service, compliance with hospital policies, and efficient patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise ER Registration Clerks and registration activities.
· Ensure accurate patient demographic, insurance, and financial information is collected.
· Monitor registration quality, productivity, and customer service standards.
· Assist with staff scheduling, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
· Resolve registration issues, patient concerns, and workflow challenges.
· Support compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
· Collaborate with nursing, clinical teams, billing, and revenue cycle departments.
· Review errors, denials, and trends to identify training opportunities.
· Serve as a resource for staff during high-volume or complex situations.
Qualifications:
· Required: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
· Prior patient registration, admitting, or revenue cycle experience required.
· Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
· Knowledge of insurance verification, patient demographics, and hospital registration
processes.
· Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Familiarity with HIPAA, EMTALA, and patient confidentiality requirements.
