Trane is seeking anACES Building Automation Controls Specialist- to join our team supporting our commercial customers!
As an ACESBuilding Automation Controls Specialist, you will be a senior level team member of the Centralized Services ACES (Automation & Controls Expert Services) Team. In this role, you will be responsible for traveling to and assisting Trane commercial and independent sales offices at all levels of building automation system design, programming, checkout and commissioning. This will include validating hardware and software design activities for building automation systems. You will apply sound engineering principles and practices to assigned projects. Collaborate daily with multiple project teams to assist Project Managers, Controls Project Specialists and Field Technicians. In this position, you will also have an opportunity to assist with the design, testing, and validation of new,
existing, and legacy products and systems.
**Please note that this role will require 75% plus travel. Travel is typically contained within the United States but can include international travel.**

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the configuration, programming and check-out and commissioning of complex building automation systems that require a high level of attention to detail.
• Responsible for reviewing and maintaining installation and programming standards.
• Acquire and maintain expertise in Trane Controls products and offerings, as well as applicable third-party devices.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Trane controls.
• Ability to provide support and remote connected support for field installations.
• Responsible for advising, and guiding Field Technicians, Engineers, and sub-contractors.
• Ensures customer satisfaction by collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in the HVAC industry performing as a Controls Technician or Controls Project Specialist roles preferred.
• Proficiency in the operation and design of HVAC systems, building automation systems, and/or Temperature Controls required.
• Previous experience in programming, commissioning, and startup of Trane control systems preferred. Familiarity with Automated Logic, Distech, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Tridium/Niagara-based control systems is a plus.
• A 2+ year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Automation Systems, or a related field is preferred.
• A valid driver's license, with no major or frequent traffic violations
• Ability to travel 75% plus.
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:
• Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt
• Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties
• Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction
• Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands
• Must be able to reach your hands over your head
• Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
• Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less
• Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30" vertical x 45" horizontal
• Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15' to 20', and occasionally, up to 50 feet +
• This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
