Job description

For 40 years, Kids on the Move has been a cornerstone of support for families and children across Utah. We've built a legacy based on genuine care, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement in the services we provide. Our team is dedicated to empowering families, and we pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment where both staff and families grow together. The impact we've had on the community over these four decades speaks to our mission of creating lasting, positive change for children and their families.
As an Early Head Start (EHS) Family Educator, you will play a meaningful role in strengthening families through home-based services that promote healthy development and strong parent-child relationships. You'll work directly with parents using the Parents as Teachers curriculum to support child development, encourage family self-sufficiency, and empower parents as their child's first and most important teacher.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building trusting relationships, enjoys working in diverse home environments, and is passionate about helping families reach their goals.
Join our team at Kids on the Move and help us empower families-right where they are.
Requirements & Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly home visits that promote child development, health, safety, and nutrition
  • Facilitate meaningful parent-child interactions using the Parents as Teachers curriculum
  • Complete developmental screenings, assessments, and Family Partnership Plans within required timelines
  • Collaborate with families to set strength-based goals that support both child and family outcomes
  • Guide families through the Family Partnership Process and connect them with community resources
  • Document services and child progress accurately in ChildPlus within required timeframes
  • Conduct intake meetings within one week of receiving a new family
  • Produce monthly Home Visit Reports and maintain organized records
  • Promote parent involvement in program activities, including Policy Council and parent events
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, supervision, and ongoing quality improvement efforts
  • Maintain consistent communication with team members and supervisors
  • Travel within the community to support assigned families
Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Home-Based CDA credential (or comparable credential or equivalent coursework)
  • Some experience in an early childhood setting
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and Head Start Performance Standards
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Intermediate computer/tablet proficiency
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Two or more years of experience in an early childhood setting
Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • Year-round position
  • Some evening hours required
  • Schedule varies depending on caseload
Benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Mileage reimbursement for community travel
  • Ongoing professional development and reflective supervision
  • Supportive, mission-driven team environment
$34,000 - $36,000 a year
