Location & Flexibility

This role can operate remotely within the US (we are prioritizing candidates based on the US West Coast) OR be based out of one of our major US office locations - Charlottesville, VA, Durham, NC, Columbus, OH, or Boston, MA.

The Opportunity

TELUS Digital is at the forefront of enabling the next generation of AI, and we're looking for a Senior Director, AGI Builders Sales, to help lead that charge. We are looking for someone who can build, inspire, and scale a world‑class sales team while personally driving and closing some of the most complex and high‑value deals in the market.

As a senior leader within our Data Annotation practice, you will set the strategic direction for your team, cultivate executive‑level relationships with AGI Builders and Fortune 1000 clients, and act as a key growth driver for TELUS Digital's Data Annotation practice. You'll operate as a pod owner — aligning client market planning, pipeline development, and go‑to‑market execution across sales, marketing, and solutions teams — while modeling the consultative, high‑performance sales culture you expect from your team.

Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Executives, setting clear expectations, fostering a high‑performance culture, and driving consistent achievement of individual and collective revenue targets.
• Provide structured coaching, actionable feedback, and ongoing development support to elevate team capability and accelerate growth.
• Drive the evolution of the current team while shaping the future‑state organization, ensuring sustained effectiveness, operational efficiency, and high‑impact outcomes.

Direct Sales Execution

• Personally own and advance a pipeline of large, complex enterprise deals, leading all stages from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and close.
• Build trusted, consultative relationships with executive, technical, and operational stakeholders across multiple business units within target client accounts.
• Develop and execute tailored account strategies that drive net‑new revenue, client account expansion, and long‑term strategic partnerships.
• Lead strategic deal planning, including mutual close plans and executive alignment strategies, with a deep understanding of enterprise AI maturity and data annotation requirements.

Strategic Partnerships & Go‑to‑Market Alignment

• Partner closely with Solutions Architecture and Delivery teams to craft compelling, technically credible value propositions tailored to the specific needs of AGI Builder clients.
• Act as the voice of the client internally — translating enterprise insights into actionable input that shapes product roadmap priorities, research direction, and delivery execution.
• Collaborate with Marketing to align on campaigns, competitive messaging, and integrated strategies that accelerate pipeline generation and support sales objectives.
• Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor within the AGI and Data Annotation ecosystem, staying ahead of market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs.

Operational Excellence & Forecasting

• Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, and account health reporting using Salesforce and associated sales tools.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with leadership on team performance, deal status, risk factors, and growth opportunities.

Competencies Experience & Track Record

• 7+ years of Data & AI professional services sales, with at least 2+ years focused on selling Data Annotation services.
• 3+ years of experience leading and growing AI sales teams.
• Proven success leading teams to consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets across a portfolio of large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to personally close and expand high‑value enterprise deals, with a strong command of consultative and solution‑based sales methodologies.
• Experience building and executing long‑term account strategies that deliver sustained, compounding revenue growth.
• Proven ability to lead and coach sales professionals at various stages of their careers, driving measurable performance improvement.

Skills & Competencies

• Exceptional executive presence with strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; able to engage credibly with stakeholders at the C‑suite level.
• A consultative, client‑first mindset with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence cross‑functional stakeholders — both externally and internally.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to develop executive‑level materials, ROI‑driven business cases, and compelling strategic narratives.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex deals simultaneously without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.
• Proficiency in enterprise sales processes and CRM platforms, with Salesforce experience strongly preferred.

Domain Knowledge

• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), AGI development workflows, or data annotation services is strongly valued.
• A genuine technical curiosity and the ability to engage meaningfully with technical buyers and solutions teams.
• Understanding of the AGI Builder ecosystem — including the key players, their data infrastructure challenges, and the competitive landscape — is a significant differentiator.

Compensation Range: $168K - $210K
