Job description

Summary

This Financial Data & BI Analyst is responsible for owning data-driven financial reporting within Finance while also providing support and backup for core financial processes, including month-end close. This position combines technical data capability (data warehouse, BI, reporting infrastructure) with financial analysis and operational support. It is intended to restore a critical capability gap created by the recent transition of technical reporting resources out of Finance, while also providing needed redundancy for key processes such as EOM. This role allows Finance to operate more independently in a data-centric environment while reducing reliance on external teams for both reporting and critical workflows.

Employees in this role are expected to perform their duties in accordance with The Way We Work, helping to create a company where innovation and care drive meaningful connections.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Own Finance reporting tools and dashboards, including Power BI development and maintenance
  • Build and maintain connections to data lake and data warehouse environments
  • Develop and manage data models supporting financial reporting across multiple systems
  • Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis directly, reducing reliance on intake from Product/Tech
  • Validate and QA reporting across Sales, Operations, and Product
  • Support development of value stream reporting and product-level P&Ls

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as backup support for month-end close (EOM), including reporting, analysis, and issue resolution
  • Improve consistency and definition of financial and operational metrics across systems
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting and close processes to reduce manual work and risk
  • To remain innovative and efficient, the use of AI is typical and expected within this role and at Basys.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Up to one day per week may be worked remotely in accordance with the telecommuting policy.
  • A commitment to:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration, both written and verbal
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and use of judgement
    • Accountability and Ownership
    • Quality, Accuracy, and Attention to Detail
    • A desire for continuous improvement and learning
  • Leadership and development skills demonstrated through influence, mentorship, and subject matter expertise
  • Strong SQL capability (data extraction, joins, transformations)
  • Strong financial acumen, including understanding of P&L drivers, revenue, and margin
  • Ability to translate data into clear financial insights and business implications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and/or data lakes
  • Advanced Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization)
  • Experience supporting or participating in month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems (CRM, billing, operational platforms)
  • Experience with Salesforce data and reporting structures
  • Familiarity with Azure or similar cloud-based data environments
  • Background in fintech, payments, or subscription-based business models
  • Experience improving or automating close and reporting processes
  • Prior experience working between Finance and technical/data teams
