CNC and Robotics Controls Troubleshooting Technician — Bolingbrook, IL

Do Allen‑Bradley PLCs and ladder logic feel second nature? Are you the first call when a Fanuc robot stalls or a CNC axis throws a fault? Can you move from reading electrical schematics to validating a Safety PLC without missing a step?

The Challenge

For the next 6–12 months, you’ll be the hands-on specialist safeguarding uptime in a high-automation manufacturing environment. You’ll report to the Maintenance Manager, live on the production floor, and jump between rapid fault recovery and long-term system reliability improvements.

Schedule & Compensation
  • Contract assignment: approximately 6–12 months
  • Day shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00/7:00 a.m. to 2:30/3:30 p.m., plus most Saturdays
  • Pay rate: Up to $48.00 per hour, based on proven work history
What You’ll Tackle
  • Troubleshoot servo/motion platforms, CNC controls, HMIs, and plant electrical systems
  • Diagnose Fanuc robot issues; perform basic programming tweaks to stabilize operations
  • Validate Safety PLCs and ensure machine guarding and safety circuits perform as designed
  • Support and tune vision systems to maintain inspection accuracy
  • Respond decisively to downtime, uncover root causes, and coordinate safe, fast recovery
  • Execute and improve PMs; document findings and corrective actions in CMMS; highlight trends that indicate developing failures
  • Work to OSHA, NFPA, arc-flash, and LOTO standards—safety first, every time
What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of industrial controls/electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Proficiency with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and ladder logic troubleshooting
  • Background with servo/motion control, CNC equipment, HMIs, and industrial electrical
  • Fanuc robot troubleshooting (programming preferred)
  • Fluency reading/interpreting electrical schematics
  • Experience in automated machining/manufacturing settings
  • Knack for structured problem solving

  • PLC program integration/modification
  • Safety PLC troubleshooting
  • Vision system know‑how
  • Exposure to CNC programming
  • CMMS proficiency
  • Education/training in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
