Job Title: Cybersecurity and IA Specialist (TS/SCI Clearance Required)
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Education: Bachelor of Science in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
Certifications:
  • Required: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), GIAC - Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Cyber Work Force (CWF) Certification: This position is classified under the DoD 8140.03-M as a Cyber Work Force position with work role code 612. The contractor must maintain and provide documentation of CWF status upon request from the Command Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and ensure certification status is maintained throughout the duration of the contract.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity and IA (Information Assurance) Specialist to join our team and support critical cybersecurity functions for the Department of Defense (DoD). The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity, including hands-on knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF). As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in securing IT systems, ensuring compliance, and mitigating security risks across a wide range of systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and oversee cybersecurity and information assurance functions, ensuring compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies.
  • Lead efforts to secure IT infrastructure and support Navy RMF processes, including risk assessments, security controls implementation, and continuous monitoring of security posture.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect sensitive information.
  • Manage system security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and remediation actions to mitigate identified cybersecurity risks.
  • Work closely with the Command Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure cybersecurity policies and practices meet DoD and Navy requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to system owners and stakeholders on security best practices and RMF procedures.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to cybersecurity policies, certifications, and risk management activities.
  • Stay up to date on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and apply best practices to enhance security posture.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD 8140.03-M and manage certification processes related to cybersecurity roles and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least five (5) years of experience performing Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity functions, including at least one (1) year of direct experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related components and instructions.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), GIAC - Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
    • Cyber Work Force (CWF) certification status as per DoD 8140.03-M with work role code 612, with documentation available upon request.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Navy and DoD cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, risk management tools, and vulnerability scanning software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
