Introduction to SK On Tennessee
SK On Tennessee is the newest North American entity of SK On, a global leading battery and trading company committed to technological innovation for a better, sustainable future. Located in Stanton, Tennessee, SK On Tennessee was established in 2026 as a stand-alone SK On company having previously operated as a joint-venture BlueOval SK since 2023.
Spanning approximately 4 million square feet, SK On Tennessee is a state-of-the-art facility operating like no other manufacturing plant in West Tennessee. From climate controlled, highly automated, and clean room conditions, our team will usher in a new brand of safety-focused manufacturing. With a projected start of production in 2028, SK On Tennessee is preparing to Power What's Next with its next-generation electric batteries.
Parent company SK On also operates facilities elsewhere in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Compliance and Enterprise Risk Manager will be responsible for the monitoring of business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The Compliance and Enterprise Risk Manager will report to General Counsel and work closely with all teams as needed.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Assist the General Counsel in the management of the company's Compliance & Ethics Program, assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the program.
  • Corporate Policies: Work cross functionally and partner with internal controls and other functional leaders to develop and implement of corporate policies from research and benchmarking through to implementation and on-going assessment of effectiveness of programs, policies, regulatory requirements, and inquiries/investigations for the company.
  • Internal Legal Compliance Policies and Training: Assist the General Counsel in the development and deployment of the training strategy for legal compliance policies and external regulatory rules
    • Oversee administration of programs through online learning platforms
    • Create and maintain internal in person training materials on selected matters
  • Due Diligence: Perform compliance due diligence on third parties, suppliers, vendors and other companies as required.
  • Company Compliance Program: Manage the company's Compliance & Ethics Program (CEP)
    • Manage the company's confidential compliance concern reporting system (familiarity with EthicsPointâ„¢ platform by Navex Global is a plus)
    • Monitor and investigate internal compliance issues and external inquiries/investigations
    • Assist in the development/continuous improvement of the CEP
    • Work cross-functionally to plan and implement the rollout of compliance and ethics programs
  • Enterprise Risk Management: Assist the General Counsel and ERM leadership in the development of enterprise-wide risk policies and strategies. Implement enterprise-wide risk management programs, projects and associated processes in alignment with organizational goals. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities across business units including risks to the Compliance and Ethics Program. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish risk tolerance levels and risk mitigation plans.
  • Risk Communication and Reporting: Develop and maintain a robust reporting system to communicate risk profiles and mitigation strategies to key stakeholders. Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting key risk indicators and the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, finance, HR and operations, to ensure a holistic approach to compliance and risk management. Foster a compliance based and risk-aware culture by promoting communication and awareness of compliance and enterprise risk-related issues at all levels of the organization.
  • Legal Support and Legal Operations: Participate in other projects (as assigned), that relate to the overall goals of the department and enterprise including assisting the General Counsel in legal operations, legal research, and support of the department goals.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • 10 + years related experience
  • Paralegal certification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adapt to change as needed day-to-day.

Preferred Requirements:
  • 5 years of paralegal experience and compliance
  • Experience working in a manufacturing organization preferred
