Job description

Located on the original Hudson’s site, Pine Hall pays homage to Detroit’s past—and the storied Pine Room—through vintage keepsakes and ice-cold cocktails featuring Michigan spirits. As the first Detroit outpost of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, founded in New York City in 1985, Pine Hall brings four decades of hospitality to the city, drawing on the spirit of beloved restaurants like Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack.
 
We're proud to serve up classic cocktails made with spirits from close to home, cold beer, and tavern fare that feels familiar, but perhaps a bit better than you remembered.
 

Who you are: 

As a Bar Prep, you will be responsible for the daily preparation of bar items for daily service. You have a strong passion for food, an eagerness to develop and build on your skills as a bar team member and be an integral part of a team that values hard work and attention to every detail.

What you’ll do:

  • Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
  • Display a working knowledge of basic bar preparation and organize all ingredients necessary for daily bar operations, including garnishes, syrups, juices, and/or batches
  • Demonstrate an ability to efficiently execute all prep assignments with excellence
  • Consistently ensure that prep station remains clean and organized
  • Communicates effectively with the kitchen team and embodies an environment of teamwork
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to continually learn and grow
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success

What we need from you:

  • Experience in a prep position at a full-service restaurant is a preferred, but not required
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
  • English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required
