The Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 7301 Washington Ave. Ocean Springs MS is hiring for our Maintenance Department

The maintenance engineer is responsible for maintaining guestrooms, public space and back of the house areas and keeping them in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wallcovering and masonry, to ensure an attractive and well maintained hotel.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education & Experience:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education of education, training or experience that provides required knowledge, skill and abilities.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
• Licenses or certificates required: None ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Physical Requirements:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities.
• Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operation of hotel equipment.
• Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electrical tools).
• Basic communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers, fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate, simple arithmetic functions.
