Job description

The Club at Breakers is seeking a Host for the upcoming season. At The Club, our Host is the first face our guests see when they walk through the door. The Host's warm welcome and helpful demeanor make that interaction positive and memorable and starts our guests on their way to a top-notch dining experience. The ideal candidate will be someone who is friendly, outgoing and extremely organized. They will also work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

Note: This is an hourly, seasonal position of 6 months or less requiring at least 40 hours per week. Overtime premiums will be applied for any hours over 40 worked per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with warm welcomes and end their visits with cheerful goodbyes
  • Let guests know of wait times and contact them as their table becomes available
  • Take reservations over the phone, through online platforms, or in-person
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming front-of-house experience
  • Seat guests at designated tables and take initial drink orders, if necessary
  • Answer questions about guests' dining options and the food and beverage menus as needed
  • Understand the needs of wait staff to ensure sections are evenly seated and not overcrowded
  • Work with restaurant staff to ensure a seamless, positive guest experience

Qualifications:

  • Willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Organizational skills for scheduling and booking reservations and tables
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to find solutions to problems under pressure
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage health and safety standards
