Youth Hockey Development Member
Pay Details:
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
This is a part-time seasonal position within the Anaheim Ducks Fan Development Marketing Department. The Anaheim Ducks prefer individuals that have a passion for the sport of hockey and are committed to being part of its growth within Orange County and the greater Southern California region. C.R.E.W. members will be responsible for support, instruction and implementation of various youth hockey initiatives including but not exclusive to; street hockey, roller hockey, ice hockey, and educationally focused events. C.R.E.W. members should be enthusiastic, possessive of a strong work ethic, and be able to work well with others while positively representing the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club as ambassadors of the team.
Responsibilities
  • Implementation and instruction of the S.C.O.R.E. Street Hockey program. Teaching student's street hockey fundamentals and safety practices during instructional sessions at school sites. C.R.E.W. members will load necessary equipment and direct instruction for each session.
  • Implementation and instruction of ice and inline hockey initiatives. Teaching students' hockey fundamentals including safety practices at instructional sessions at local The Rinks locations. C.R.E.W. members will gather equipment, outfit student participants, and direct on-rink instruction.
  • Assist with preparations, support, and implementation of i3 Roller Hockey Playoffs and Showcase Game at The Rinks Inline Facilities.
  • Assist with preparations, support, implementation, and officiating of street hockey games and tournaments, including the S.C.O.R.E. Shootout.
  • Assist with various school-based events, duties will include but not be limited to set up of audio/visual equipment, street hockey equipment, etc.
  • Drive Ducks "Promotional Vehicles" to and from events. Make sure vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for events and unloaded at the conclusion of the events, while ensuring that the vehicles are kept clean at all times.
  • Assist with implementation of S.C.O.R.E. programs: First Flight, Captains Challenge, and Throwback Classic.
  • Assist with organization and maintenance of the Fan Development storage unit(s).
  • Work promotional give-away events at Ducks games.
  • Assist with other tasks on an as-needed basis.

Skills
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced work environment
  • Bronze-level (2+ years) ice or roller hockey experience highly preferred
  • Hard working, detail oriented and results driven
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to be a team player and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Previous experience working with elementary aged students preferred (Camp counselor, coaching, teaching, etc.)
  • Previous marketing/promotional/event experience preferred
  • Bilingual speakers a plus
  • Teaching/Adaptive P.E. instruction experience a plus
  • Candidates medically cleared to work in school-based environments a plus
  • Youth roller or ice hockey coaching a plus

Qualification Standards:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid California driver's license, automobile liability insurance and a good driving record.
  • Flexible schedule - Must be able to work some nights/weekends and holidays as required.
  • Requires prolonged standing; ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions

*Uniform (including street, roller, and on-ice clothing) is provided for this position
