Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Clinic Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services to patients in an outpatient setting.
  • This role performs nursing assessments in providing direct and indirect patient care, provides health advice, patient and family education, and may handle phone triage.
  • Provides detailed evaluation of patient symptoms to determine urgency of situation, facilitates next steps in patient care, and provides medical advice on treating symptoms.
  • Utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes to meet patient care needs.
  • Administers medications, collects specimen, and performs nursing procedures within scope of practice.
  • Documents all nursing services provided.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and when facing ethical or legal issues.
  • Facilitates appropriate utilization of healthcare resources.
  • Enhances the patient experience.
  • Provides services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards, including the California Nurse Practice Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Successful completion of a nursing program
  • Basic keyboarding skills basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel

Preferred:

  • One (1) year clinical nursing experience preferably in an ambulatory care setting
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
  • Knowledge of registration and order entry systems
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling and insurance verification and authorization

License Required:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of California

Certifications Required

  • Current BLS Certification
  • HHC HB 19582 Obgyn, HSC HHC NB 500 Obgynย & HSC IRV Barranca 4870 Obgyn: AFHM - Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Course certification required as designated by Manager.
