Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting complex issues, programming and calibrating automated machinery, and ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The technician will also support quality control efforts, maintain detailed documentation, and contribute to a well-organized maintenance operation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and automated equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Program and troubleshoot automated equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, and other automation systems.
  • Calibrate instruments and sensors to ensure accurate and consistent equipment performance.
  • Install, repair, and modify industrial equipment, machinery, and associated components as needed.
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment performance and maintenance work to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.
  • Develop, revise, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to maintenance tasks and equipment operation.
  • Document maintenance activities, changes, and repairs in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to maintain accurate records.
  • Provide both emergency and scheduled repairs to minimize production interruptions and support continuous operations.
  • Track parts, tools, and maintenance supplies to ensure availability for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, consistently following safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, such as forklifts and scissor lifts, in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Collaborate with a team of maintenance technicians and communicate effectively with supervisors and production staff to coordinate maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with PLCs and HMIs, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in an automated or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic equipment and robotic systems in a production or industrial setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for equipment installation and repair.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in industrial maintenance work.
  • Capability to lift up to 80 lbs as part of routine maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ability to provide and use a basic personal tool set suitable for industrial maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and techniques for industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with automation systems and industrial robotics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industrial automation concepts and integration of PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
  • Experience with industrial environments such as plastics injection molding operations and machine operation.
  • Ability to work with industrial control schematics and, where applicable, tools such as AutoCAD for understanding layouts and designs.
  • Understanding of quality control principles as they relate to equipment performance and maintenance work.
  • Experience maintaining or using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders and documentation.
  • Comfort working with industrial robotics and automation equipment in a production setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established SOPs and safety procedures.
