We are seeking a Rhapsody Integration Engineer/Developer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and supporting healthcare system integrations using the Health Rhapsody Integration Engine. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare data integration, custom message transformations, secure data transport, and web services, with a passion for building reliable, compliant, and scalable integration solutions.


Job Title: Rhapsody Integration Engineer/Developer
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – onsite 2 days per week; no remote-only option)
Duration: 1-year contract with possible extension
Job Description

The Rhapsody Integration Engineer will support a state government healthcare environment by building and maintaining complex integrations across multiple systems. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Rhapsody tools, healthcare messaging standards, and secure communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain integrations using Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
  • Utilize Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to create custom filters, routes, and mappers
  • Perform message payload translation between HL7, XML, JSON, and proprietary or legacy formats
  • Design and consume SOAP and RESTful web services
  • Work with communication protocols including TCP connections and LLP
  • Implement secure data transport using TLS encryption and certificate-based mutual authentication
  • Support authentication mechanisms such as OAuth
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize message workflows
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful integrations

Required Skills & Experience:

Several years of experience with:

  • Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
  • Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK)
  • Healthcare messaging formats (HL7, XML, JSON)
  • Custom payload transformations and mappings
  • Web services (SOAP, REST)

  • Transport protocols (TCP, LLP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rhapsody Certification (preferred)
