Job description

This is a contract, remote position, but we do have a preference for someone based in Austin, TX.

For this opportunity, you will get the chance to work with a successful and scaling Healthcare organization and one of the most competent leaders we have worked with.

We’re looking for a polished, service-minded IT Systems Engineer to work remotely but be available for occasional in-office support at the Austin HQ (if you are Austin-based), while delivering high-touch, high-reliability support across the business.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring a seamless support experience across users, devices, AV systems, collaboration tools, and SaaS platforms.

This hybrid role blends hands-on technical systems work (primarily Mac, Windows, and SaaS tools like Google Workspace, Jamf, Okta, Zoom). They are a mission-driven company operating in a HIPAA-regulated space, so attention to detail and discretion are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer and support the user base on both Windows and Mac.
  • Deliver phone support across the business, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain employee laptops (primarily Windows but some Mac), ensuring compliance through tools like Jamf or similar MDM platforms.
  • Support and maintain AV systems and Zoom Rooms for hybrid meetings, events, and executive communications.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding tasks, including equipment provisioning, account setup, and welcome orientation.
  • Triage and resolve IT tickets via help desk systems, Slack, Zoom, and email—prioritizing clarity, speed, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with IT and Security on automation, process improvements, and internal documentation to enhance the employee tech experience.
  • Ensure all support activities comply with HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, and internal security standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of commercial real-world experience in IT systems support ( Okta, JAMF, Google Workspace, Slack experience a bonus )
  • Experience in the Healthcare arena is required
  • Strong experience in Windows and Mac environments
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Zoom, and cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Hands-on experience supporting AV equipment and Zoom Room configurations.
  • Impeccable customer service and communication skills—especially when working with senior leaders.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear understanding of IT operations within security-conscious environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST).
  • Strong and polite communication skills are a must.

We can not sponsor for this role or work C2C.
