Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with extensive IR experience for a Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures unit, including a call rotation and preceptor responsibilities.

Details
  • Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures unit within a hospital setting
  • Procedures include a full range of interventional radiology procedures involving multiple modalities including ultrasound and CT
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • On-call rotation required for weekends and holidays
  • No floating requirements
  • 20-week contract
Requirements
  • Extensive IR experience required
  • Experience as a preceptor for IR Technologists required
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required
  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and ARRT (Radiography) certifications required
  • IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required — state license required if applicable
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Ability to handle small supplies with manual dexterity
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include functioning as scrub tech and preceptor during IR procedures, maintaining a sterile field, administering and withholding contrast as appropriate, and assessing patients for allergies
  • Works collaboratively with current Radiology Technologist staff to develop IR competency and refine workflows across all modalities involved in IR procedures
  • Performs accurate documentation and explains procedures to patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality
  • Assists with inventory and supplies as needed
  • Candidate selection involves a leader interview
  • RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week period
  • Candidates who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
