Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray & CT) โ€“ Evening Shift
Clinton, IL | Diagnostic Imaging | Permanent | Full-Time

Salary Range: $52,000 โ€“ $92,000

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic X-ray and CT imaging exams in a hospital-based Diagnostic Imaging department during the evening shift. The technologist ensures accurate image acquisition, proper patient positioning, and adherence to radiation safety standards while delivering compassionate, patient-focused care. This role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.

  • Evening Shift: 2:30 PM โ€“ 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT exams as ordered, following established protocols and radiologist instructions.

  • Ensure correct patient positioning, appropriate technique selection, and high-quality images for accurate interpretation.

  • Maintain radiation safety and protection practices in accordance with ALARA principles and regulatory standards.

  • Verify patient identity and exam orders prior to imaging, and provide clear explanations of procedures to patients.

  • Accurately document procedures, patient information, and exam details in electronic systems.

  • Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively, reporting equipment issues as needed.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, radiologists, and clinical team members to support coordinated care.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • Active Illinois Radiologic Technologist license (or ability to obtain upon acceptance).

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray and/or CT experience preferred).

  • Basic computer proficiency, including use of PACS/RIS or similar systems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.

  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment in clinical situations.
