Job description

Basic Function

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner with deep recruiting expertise to help shape and execute SB Energy's people strategy during a period of rapid growth. This is a strategic, hands-on role for a talent leader who can move quickly, build durable hiring infrastructure, and source, engage, and close rare and business-critical talent across functions and levels.

The role will partner closely with executives, business leaders, hiring managers, internal recruiting resources, and external search partners to identify future talent needs, develop high-impact search strategies, improve candidate and hiring-manager experiences, and deliver the talent required to support a high-performing, scaling organization.

The job title, level, scope, and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall profile.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Strategy & Execution

  • Lead hiring strategies across functions and levels, with emphasis on rare, critical, and hard-to-fill talent essential to business growth.
  • Partner with leaders and hiring managers to define hiring needs, sharpen role requirements, assess talent markets, and build targeted sourcing and search strategies.
  • Provide full-cycle and strategic recruiting support as needed, including intake, sourcing, candidate engagement, interview planning, selection calibration, offer partnership, and close strategy.
  • Partner closely with internal recruiting leads and external search partners to drive prioritization, accountability, timely execution, and high-quality candidate slates.
  • Source, attract, and help close high-impact candidates in competitive markets through creative outreach, market mapping, referrals, and external partnerships.
  • Build scalable recruiting processes, tools, and reporting practices that improve speed, quality, consistency, and hiring-manager accountability.
  • Translate business priorities into practical hiring plans, capacity models, search priorities, and talent initiatives that support rapid, sustainable growth.
  • Use recruiting metrics and market insights to identify bottlenecks, improve funnel performance, inform workforce planning, and keep searches moving quickly.
  • Ensure onboarding processes scale along with our growth to maintain a top-quality onboarding experience for new hires.

Business Partnering & People Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day HR partnership to leaders and teams, acting as a trusted advisor on talent, leadership, performance, and culture.\
  • Coach managers on effective hiring decisions, interview practices, onboarding, team dynamics, and performance expectations.
  • Navigate complex employee relations and people topics with sound judgment, discretion, and practical risk awareness.
  • Support people programs and initiatives that reinforce values, engagement, inclusion, and a high-performing culture.

Policies, Processes & Compliance

  • Develop and improve people policies, programs, and processes that scale with the business and support a positive employee experience.
  • Ensure recruiting and HR practices comply with applicable employment laws, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Continuously improve systems, workflows, documentation, and stakeholder communications across the employee lifecycle.
  • Prepare people and talent data, reports, dashboards, and analyses that support workforce planning, compliance, audits, and leadership decision-making.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in HR / People roles, with significant experience leading or partnering deeply with talent acquisition in high-growth or evolving organizations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute recruiting strategies across multiple functions and levels, including leadership, niche, rare, and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, engage, influence, and close critical talent in competitive markets with urgency, creativity, and strong candidate judgment.
  • Experience partnering with internal recruiting teams, hiring managers, senior leaders, and external search partners to drive searches from strategy through close.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting, hiring operations, workforce planning, interview design, candidate experience, offer strategy, and hiring-manager enablement.
  • Ability to operate across multiple people functions, including talent acquisition, HR business partnering, people programs, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset and the ability to move quickly in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and change-management skills.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate ambiguity in a rapidly growing organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, equivalent experience, or HR certification
  • Experience supporting high-growth, newly scaled, or project-based business lines where hiring velocity and quality are both critical.
  • Experience building or improving recruiting processes, interview frameworks, hiring-manager training, external search partnerships, or talent operations infrastructure.
  • Experience partnering with distributed, hybrid, or multi-state teams.
  • Familiarity with employment compliance considerations related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, CA, or Denver, CO. Hybrid.

Base Pay: $140,000-$165,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks-while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package. Final details will be discussed during the later stages of the hiring process.
