Do you enjoy working with preschool-age children? Are you creative, team-oriented, and passionate about early childhood education? If so, we'd love to have you join our team!
THPRD is hiring for our 9-month Preschool Programs, which provide engaging, play-based learning experiences inspired by the Reggio Emilia theory of education. Programs begin in September 2026 and run through May 2027.
Preschool Programs
  • Jump Start at Cedar Hills Recreation Center is an engaging nine-month, curriculum-based program inspired by the Reggio Emilia theory of education.
  • Fanno Farmers at the Fanno Farmhouse is a comprehensive nine-month preschool program inspired by the Reggio Emilia theory of education.
  • Conestoga Pearls is a comprehensive nine-month introductory preschool program inspired by the Reggio Emilia theory of education for learners.
  • Bilingual Spanish Preschool at Conestoga Recreation Center utilizes the Reggio Emilia approach to learning in both English and Spanish.

Job Openings:
Preschool Lead Teacher: The Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and leading the nine-month preschool program. Incumbents in this job classification work independently, within established guidelines, to develop, coordinate, supervise, and instruct the day-to-day activities of assigned program areas and provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff and volunteers. Lead teachers will be required to ensure compliance with meal and rest breaks requirements for direct reports.
Pay Rate Range: $27.84 - $31.38 hourly
The full hourly range for this job classification is $27.84 - $31.38. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Preschool Co-Teacher: Preschool Co-teachers are responsible for preparing, instructing, assisting in planning, and leading activities for program participants. Staff should be prepared to work indoors and outdoors on uneven surfaces, in various environmental conditions each week.
Pay Rate Range: $21.81 hourly
The full hourly range for this job classification is $21.81 - $24.59. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Preschool Assistant: Preschool Assistants assist with preparing, instructing, and leading activities for program participants. Assistants could also work in the childcare room. Staff should be prepared to work indoors and outdoors on uneven surfaces, in various environmental conditions each week.
Pay Rate Range: $18.84 - $20.02 hourly
The full hourly range for this job classification is $18.84 - $21.24. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Schedule & Position Information
We are hiring for part-time, year-round positions scheduled 8-29 hours per week, beginning in September 2026 and continuing through May 2027. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on program needs.

PART-TIME VARIABLE (PT): Part-time variable (PT) employees work less than 29 hours per week on average annually. However, they have the option of working additional hours during periods like summer or winter months. PT are eligible to receive benefits such as Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work).
SEASONAL: Seasonal employment is temporary and allows employees to work only during certain times of the year, up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of six (6) consecutive months. Seasonal employees are eligible to receive benefits such as Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work). Effective February 15, 2026, seasonal employees will also be eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (PTO)!

Leave
  • Paid Time Off - Paid leave type for part-time variable employees. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!
  • The ability to accrue paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked
  • Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
  • Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
