Job description

Overview
Corporate Tools is looking to build a strong, scrappy, street smart tax team. As we grow we are looking to put ourselves in the best tax position we can. In order to get to this position, we need varying levels of experience to join our team... let that sink in. Experience, not titles. CPA firms have done a heck of a job telling people their title dictates the work they get to do, that's so odd isn't it? Maybe you have a lot of great relatable experience and can lead a team to drive to amazing results, or maybe your experience is pretty new and you're still honing your skills. Both are great, and both are needed. Here is the part that might really break your brain... even if you have the same "title" you'll be paid differently depending on, yes you guessed it, your experience.
So buckle up, because the work you do here has a huge impact and you actually get to be a part of the whole process! So if you're tired of running dumb reports and not driving anything, it sounds like you might be on the right path to being the right fit here. You need to be hungry, humble, and enjoy working as a team where you don't have to be the one with the "idea", but as a group you can get it done. We want you to be a part of the business decisions, strategy, and of course, tax. Being successful here means you aren't going to be squirreled away in a tax corner, you actually want to be a part of the business.
The job itself is in North Idaho, so that's weird, but as a tax person, maybe you can see those advantages... Did we mention no billable hours and no busy season death march?
Wage
Up to $250,000
Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option
  • 22 days Paid Time Off accrued annually, and 4 holidays
    • After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company-not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want
    • The 4 holidays are: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance
    • Use to make your remote work set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever
  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar - oh yeah
