Job description

Job Summary:
As a Diesel Technician at Don Hinds Ford Inc. in Fishers, Indiana, you will play a crucial role in the repair and maintenance of Ford Powerstroke vehicles for our valued customers. This is a full-time position in the auto industry, where you will work alongside a team of skilled technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems. This individual contributor role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for providing top-quality service to our customers. Don Hinds is currently expanding to meet customer needs by adding 12 bays and air conditioning in the shop!

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, tune-ups, and filter replacements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, such as computerized testing equipment, to accurately identify and repair issues.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and dealership procedures for repairs and maintenance..
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers to explain repairs and answer any questions.
- Keep abreast of advancements in diesel technology through training and self-study.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Diesel Technician in an auto dealership or similar setting.
- Solid understanding of diesel engines and related systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerized testing tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Time-management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
