Provides oversight and management of work performed by the Health Information Management department including: release of information, vital records, document imaging, record retention and retrieval, deficiency assignment, transcription services, chart correction, maintenance of the Master Patient Index (MPI) and the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) and synchronization of data within all systems as it relates to the EMPI and the legal Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

**THIS POSITION IS ONSITE IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA**

Responsibilities

Provides oversight and management of work performed by the Health Information Management department including: release of information, vital records, document imaging, record retention and retrieval, deficiency assignment, transcription services, chart correction, maintenance of the Master Patient Index (MPI) and the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) and synchronization of data within all systems as it relates to the EMPI and the legal Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university Required or
  • In Lieu of degree six (6) years of relevant Revenue Cycle experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement Required
Work Experience
  • 5 years of related Revenue Cycle experience to include HIM experience Required and
  • 3 years of leadership experience Required or
  • In lieu of degree total of eleven (11) years of experience Required
  • Prior management experience in Health Information Management department Preferred
  • Prior experience with Epic or system implementations Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Health Information Technician Upon Hire Required or
  • RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Upon Hire Required
