Job description

Valley View HIM Specialist II

Valley View is seeking HIM Specialist II's with strong attention to detail and customer service skills to assist our Medical Records Department.

This is an on-site, in-person position only, based at the Silt Office Building in Silt, CO. Handle, organize, and protect medical records while carrying out key medical records tasks. Requires strong attention to detail, excellent multitasking skills, and effective communication abilities. Customer Service experience preferred!

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  1. Performs Main Medical Record Activities.
  2. Performs Departmental receptionist/secretary duties.
  3. Performs Scanning, QA and Document indexing Activities.
  4. Performs Periodic Record Review Activities as Directed by HIM Management.
  5. Performs Routine MPI Management functions.
  6. Provides Departmental coverage for Birth Certificate Registrations.
  7. Provides Release of Information Services as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Consistency and accuracy in routine job functions
  • Previous Health Information Experience preferred.
