Job description

Senior Associate Attorney – Insurance Defense

Location: Tampa, FL

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 (based on experience)

Hightower & Partners, an AV-rated insurance defense law firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing Tampa office. This is a full-time, in-office position. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload primarily focused on bodily injury defense, including auto negligence and general liability matters.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation: written discovery, depositions, hearings, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and billing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 4–5 years of experience handling Bodily Injury cases (required).
  • Active license to practice law in Florida and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with law firm billing practices and time entry protocols.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume caseload, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
