Job description

Allcare Homecare is seeking compassionate, patient, and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 2:1 support service for an adult client with Autism. This position requires individuals who are energetic, engaging, and committed to building a positive and supportive relationship with the client.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being active in the community, can provide companionship, and is comfortable working in a highly structured environment. Due to the complexity of the case, there is a significant amount of information, training, and support strategies that staff will be expected to learn and consistently implement.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct 2:1 support to a client with Autism. 
  • Assist with community integration and social activities. 
  • Build a positive, respectful, and supportive friendship-based rapport while maintaining professional boundaries. 
  • Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies. 
  • Assist with daily living activities as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes. 
  • Work closely with supervisors, family members, and support teams. 
  • Ensure the client's safety, well-being, and dignity at all times. 
Requirements:
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred. 
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations. 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred. 
  • Ability to learn and follow detailed support plans. 
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality. 
  • Must be willing to participate in training and ongoing coaching.
