Job description

Are you a number cruncher? Do you enjoy drawing up a budget and accounting for every penny for your vacation almost as much as the vacation itself? Do you do your best work behind the scenes supporting your team doing the "dirty" work of job costing, organizing receipts, and calculating payroll that others seem to hate?

If this is you, we would love to add you as a AP/Payroll Specialist to our growing team.

Every day, you'll interact with our Project Managers, and Operations Manager to accurately track job costs and payroll.

The AP/Payroll specialist is the backbone of our operation. You'll handle all the behind-the-scenes work of processing company payroll and day to day job costing for all of your projects.

As part of your job, you will:

  • Acquiring and processing invoices
  • Assisting in the reconciliation of accounts with Accountant
  • Paying or receiving payment from vendors and customers
  • Work with other departments to verify, record transactions, and resolve account discrepancies
  • Payroll - keeping track of people's hours, pay, etc.
  • Calculate the correct amounts for payroll incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.
  • Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed
  • Prepare and execute pay-orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks.
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
  • Weekly Job Costing
  • Facilitating insurance audits

That sounds like a lot (and it is), but you won’t be expected to do all of that right away. We will train you in the policies and procedures of Nelson Exteriors and ensure you have all the necessary tools to be successful.
