JOB SUMMARY Home Matters Caregiving is looking for an experienced caregiver looking to take their career to the next level. The purpose of the First Responder role is to fill in for open shifts (call outs, days off) and for situations where a client needs care in a short period of time. The First Responders share on-call (24/7) duties in case of emergency needs (no-call, no show by another caregiver). This position is a stepping stone towards our Lead Care Manager position.

Our caregivers are expected to provide the highest level of service to our clients. From light housework, and food preparation to assisting with hygiene and providing companionship. Our caregiver first philosophy will change the way you think about your career in the home care industry.

QUALIFICATIONS -Must be 21 years of age (some exceptions may apply) -Must have sufficient communication and language skills to effectively perform duties -Must have at least 3 years of professional caregiving experience with senior population

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Fill open shifts as needed throughout our entire service area.

-Work alongside the Lead Care Manager to assist with Client assessments and first shift introductions.

- Work alongside the Lead Care Manager to assist with employee orientations.

-Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.

- Assist with meal preparation and feeding.

- Assist with mobility and transfers.

- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.

- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

-Follow care plans and communicate any changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have 3 or more years of formal caregiving experienced in senior care -Must have reliable transportation - Familiarity with first aid procedures. -Current TB test with results

- Ability to fill open shifts as needed at any time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to lift 50 lbs. using safe, ergonomic movements - Able to stand, walk, reach, crouch, use hands and fingers - Able to talk, hear and see - Physically and mentally able to drive a vehicle

COMPENSATION

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time Pay: Starting at $20/hr, depending on experience BENEFITS
