Job description

Position: Strength & Conditioning Coordinator
Reports to: Athletic Director
Primary Responsibility:
To develop, coordinate, and oversee a Christ-centered strength and conditioning program for student-athletes at Traders Point Christian Schools. This position will collaborate closely with varsity and interested sub-varsity coaches to design sport-specific training plans that support athletic performance, injury prevention, physical development, and overall student-athlete wellness while aligning with the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools.
Position Goal:
The goal of this position is to support Traders Point Christian School's mission to challenge and educate students within the framework of a Biblical worldview, leading them to a personal faith and a transformed life in Jesus Christ. We are Jesus-Centered, Relationally-Driven, and Educationally-Anchored.
The Strength & Conditioning Coordinator will help cultivate a culture of discipline, accountability, teamwork, and servant leadership while promoting physical growth and athletic excellence across all sports programs.
Compensation & Position Status:
  • Seasonal stipend position
  • $2,000 per season (Fall, Winter, Spring)
  • Total annual stipend: $6,000 per school year
  • Flexible after-school and evening hours required

Qualifications:
  • A strong personal commitment to Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools
  • Previous experience in strength and conditioning, athletics, coaching, kinesiology, exercise science, personal training, or a related field preferred
  • Certification in strength and conditioning, personal training, or fitness instruction preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with middle school and/or high school student-athletes preferred
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes and coaches
  • Ability to work flexible hours after school, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed
  • Understanding of proper strength training techniques, injury prevention, mobility, and athletic development

    • Ensure workouts are conducted safely and effectively while teaching proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and injury prevention strategies.

    • Ability to organize schedules, communicate with coaches and athletes, manage equipment, and oversee training sessions in an efficient and professional manner.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Strength & Conditioning Program Development
    • Design and implement strength and conditioning plans for varsity and interested sub-varsity athletic teams that align with the goals of each sport and coaching staff.
  • Coach Collaboration
    • Communicate regularly with coaches regarding training schedules, athlete development goals, in-season/off-season priorities, and program adjustments.
  • Supervision of Training Sessions
    • Lead and supervise strength and conditioning sessions for teams and student-athletes while ensuring proper technique, safety, and effort.
  • Open Weight Room Availability
    • Provide opportunities for general student-athletes to utilize the weight room outside of scheduled team sessions while maintaining appropriate supervision and accountability.
  • Injury Prevention & Athletic Wellness
    • Promote injury prevention through mobility work, stretching, recovery education, and proper movement training.
  • Equipment Oversight
    • Assist with maintaining and organizing strength training equipment and workout spaces to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
  • Communication & Scheduling
    • Coordinate schedules with coaches, athletes, and the Athletic Department to maximize participation and efficiency across multiple sports seasons.
  • Faith Integration
    • Serve as a positive Christian role model by demonstrating Christ-centered leadership, encouragement, integrity, and mentorship throughout all interactions with students and staff.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, coaches, and school leadership to support the growth and development of Traders Point Christian School athletics.
  • Scheduling/Communication
    • Has great scheduling/communication skills with coaches and student/athletes. To plan ahead and be organized in working within this specific area, as well as working with athletic staff on scheduling facility space availability.
