Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer – Bloomington, MN (Hybrid)

Job Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government, mission critical and healthcare markets. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to be part of our firm.

Responsibilities: Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.

  • Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Develop electrical system design calculations.
  • Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.
  • Perform QA/QC design work.
  • Lead a project team and manage projects.
  • Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Complete code compliance research.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • Assist in the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • You have a minimum of 8 years’ design experience as registered engineer. (required)
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • You possess a Professional Engineer license, PE (required).
  • You have experience with complex institutional projects.
  • You have LEED experience, certification is desired.
  • You are familiar with codes, standards and design guidelines.
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.
  • Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Revit and MS Office.

Location: Bloomington, MN (Hybrid)

Travel: 10%

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
