Job description

The High Reach Operator is responsible for safely operating high-reach demolition equipment to dismantle structures in a controlled and efficient manner. This role requires strong knowledge of demolition practices, equipment operation, and safety regulations. The operator will work closely with site supervisors and ground crews to ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate high-reach demolition equipment (e.g., excavators with extended booms and attachments such as shears, processors, and hammers)
  • Perform structural demolition of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings
  • Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks
  • Follow engineered demolition plans and instructions from supervisors
  • Maintain safe working distances and ensure site safety for crew members and the public
  • Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals or radios
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards during demolition activities
  • Assist with mobilization and demobilization of equipment
  • Maintain daily equipment logs and report any mechanical issues immediately

Qualifications
