Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Grade: 13

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Operations Manager

Appraisal Type: Employee

Job Purpose: Maintenance personnel are responsible for ensuring the maintenance of equipment.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs routine maintenance on equipment, doors, buildings. Conducts repairs as directed. 
  2. Inspects air compressors, inspects forklifts for fuel and overall functionality. Document on daily inspection form and reports any nonfunctional parts to maintenance manager or mechanics. 
  3. Changes oil, orders parts, keeps equipment running, and fixes doors.
  4. Perform scheduled PMs (preventive maintenance work orders). 
  5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
  6. Performs additional duties as needed. 
  7. Regular attendance and timeliness.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as charts, procedure manuals and job instructions with basic problem solving skills.
  4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  5. Ability to accurately read and record measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools, as well as read a tape-measure.
  6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  7. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Has strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  8. Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  9. Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
  10. Ability to use department equipment: scissor, boom, and forklifts. Able to work safely on lifts and is able to work at heights. (boom lifts) 
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  2. The work environment is usually an indoor setting with frequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high. This position requires infrequent travel, which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.
  3. Must abide by PPE requirements.
