Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join the team at our independent, privately-owned small animal exclusive practice in the beautiful countryside of New Prague, Minnesota (SW Metro Minnesota, 45 minutes from the Twin Cities). You will primarily diagnose and treat dogs and cats. Daily responsibilities will include performing surgeries and dental procedures, treating illness/injury and urgent care cases, performing wellness exams, prescribing medications, and spaying/neutering. We do a large volume of wellness visits, have a wonderful trained support team, and awesome clientele. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, weโ€™d like to meet you. Our recently remodeled clinic is complete with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house Heska lab, surgical suite, large treatment area, and an awesome staff.

Responsibilitiesย 
  • Provide routine examinations
  • Diagnose illnesses and injuries and recommend treatmentย 
  • Perform surgeries including dental, ophthalmic, and soft tissue
  • Administer vaccinations
  • Perform spay and neuter surgeries
  • Prescribe medication
  • Advise pet owners on preventative healthcare, nutrition, and overall pet well-being
  • Ability to document accurate client records in a timely fashion
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, licensed in Minnesota or ability to obtain
  • Previous work experience as a veterinarian
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and anesthesia procedures
  • Skilled and comfortable with soft tissue and dental surgical procedures
  • Strong, motivated team work ethic and positive communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex medical concepts in simple terms for our clients
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Weekday shifts available, can be flexible: Mondays and Fridays 8-5, and/or Tuesday and Thursdays 8-2, or 2-8.
  • No on-call, no weekends
  • Patience and a love for animals
