Transportation Specialist (Driver)

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

About the Opportunity
Noble Hearts HR Consulting & Staffing is partnering with a valued client to identify dependable
and caring Transportation Specialists who are ready to make a positive impact in the Wichita
community. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, value
safety, and are looking for a flexible and rewarding role in student transportation.
As a Transportation Specialist, you will help ensure students are safely transported to and from
school, appointments, and other approved destinations. This role is a great fit for someone who is
reliable, patient, safety-focused, and committed to providing excellent service.


Position Summary
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and professional pupil
transportation services. Drivers will operate company-provided vehicles, transport small groups
of students, assist students as needed, and follow all company safety procedures and
transportation guidelines.
The ideal candidate will bring strong driving skills, good judgment, professionalism, and a caring
attitude when working with students of all ages, including students with special needs.


Key Responsibilities
• Safely transport students to and from school, appointments, and other approved outings
as needed
• Assist students to and from the vehicle and help them safely enter and exit the vehicle
• Safely load, unload, and secure students during transportation
• Escort students to their destination location when required
• Communicate with Dispatchers regarding location, status, and updates as needed
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Complete daily driving logs, incident reports, and other required documentation
• Report vehicle maintenance issues immediately
• Maintain the vehicle by keeping it clean and fueled
• Follow all traffic laws, company operating procedures, dress code, and safety policies
• Perform all job functions in a professional, reliable, and respectful manner
• Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications


Required
• Valid driver's license issued by the state of legal residence
• Acceptable driving record as shown on Motor Vehicle Record check
• Ability to pass a company-sponsored drug screening
• Ability to pass a company-sponsored physical exam
• Ability to pass a company-sponsored criminal background check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, write legibly, and complete required reports
• Good judgment, problem-solving skills, and sound decision-making ability
• Ability to work independently and professionally with students, families, dispatchers, and
team members


Preferred
• Previous professional driving experience
• Experience working with children, students, or individuals with special needs
• Transportation, school transportation, caregiving, or community service experience
• Familiarity with safety procedures, daily logs, and vehicle inspections


Schedule and Job Details
• Flexible schedules available
• No weekends, evenings, or major holidays
• Most drivers start between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Drivers may work up to 8+ hours per straight shift or 5+ hours per split shift
• Average of 3-5 students per vehicle
• Paid training provided
• Weekly pay
• CDL is not required
• Company provides vehicles and pays for maintenance and fuel

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must live locally or be willing to commute to the Wichita, KS area
• Preference may be given to candidates within a reasonable commuting distance
• Must meet all driving, background, physical, drug screening, and scheduling
requirements for the role
