Job description

Kitchen Helper/Transport Driver – Lunchtime Solutions

Location: On-site at Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools Schedule: Monday–Friday 10:30am-12:30pm

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team-focused Kitchen Helper/Transport Driver to join our school food service program. In this dual-role position, you'll help keep meal service running smoothly by preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and safely delivering meals and supplies between school locations. It's an active, hands-on role that combines teamwork, customer service, and independent responsibility while making a real impact on students' day.

What You'll Do
  • Help prep and serve menu items, keep your station stocked, and follow serving-size and special-diet guidelines.
  • Deliver meals, food, and supplies to assigned school locations following established routes and schedules.
  • Safely load, unload, and transport food, supplies, and equipment between sites.
  • Follow simple recipes like fruit and veggie bars or baked goods while keeping kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized using FIFO.
  • Maintain food safety and compliance by following food-safety procedures, completing basic logs, and helping maintain a safe workspace.
  • Keep delivery vehicles clean, organized, and ready for daily use.
  • Communicate supply needs, delivery updates, vehicle concerns, and operational feedback to your team and supervisors.
  • Stock and serve menu items during meal service and help with prep lists and freezer pulls.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and jump in wherever needed to support teammates and ensure successful meal service.
What You Bring
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches.
  • Dependability, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to safely drive, park, and maneuver delivery vehicles, including vans or box trucks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move heavier items using carts and transport equipment.
  • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks throughout the day.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
  • Enjoy your evenings and weekends—our Monday–Friday daytime schedule means no late nights, no weekends, and no holidays spent in a kitchen.
  • Follow the school-year rhythm—work when school is in session and enjoy built-in breaks when students are out.
  • Plan for your future with our 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Enjoy work-life balance with paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Eat well—enjoy a free, delicious meal every shift.
  • Stay supported with a limited medical benefit plan available for those scheduled 5 hours or more each day.

At Lunchtime Solutions, our success comes from team members who:

  • Take pride in what you do
  • Focus on customer success
  • Be a person of integrity
  • Drive to improve
  • Do it with passion

  • Embrace a healthy work-life balance

If these values resonate with you, we'd love to meet you!
