At Nob Hill Animal Clinic, our Veterinary Assistants are the ultimate medical support system. You aren’t just here to clean; you are the right hand to our Technicians and Doctors, playing a massive role in keeping our fast-paced floor running smoothly and our patients feeling safe.
We operate a beautiful, modern, recently renovated small-animal practice in Plantation. If you are looking for a collaborative team that will actually invest in your hands-on training, teach you advanced clinical protocols, and help you grow into a Veterinary Technician role, you’ve found your new home.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Hourly Compensation (Based on experience)
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance packages
  • 401(k) with Company Matching
  • Generous Employee Discounts for your personal pets
  • On-the-Job Mentorship & a clear pipeline to transition into an advanced Veterinary Technician track

Your Role on the Floor
You will work side-by-side with our medical team, setting the tone for excellent patient care and smooth client workflows.
Patient Care & Clinical Support
  • Low-Stress Restraint: Safely and gently restrain dogs and cats for exams, blood draws, IV catheter placement, and treatments.
  • Vitals & Intake: Greet clients, escort them to exam rooms, collect detailed patient histories, and record accurate weights and vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) in our digital records.
  • Lab & Pharmacy Assistance: Process laboratory samples (fecals, bloodwork) and help prepare medications and prescription labels under direct supervision.
Surgical & Care Prep
  • Surgical Assistance: Clean, sanitize, and pack surgical instruments; utilize the autoclave, and help prep patients for procedures.
  • In-Patient Comfort: Keep hospitalized and recovering pets clean, fed, watered, and safely walked.
Client Connection
  • Education: Confidently explain basic pet wellness needs to clients, including vaccine schedules, flea/tick preventatives, and routine heartworm testing.
  • Bilingual Communication: Use your English and Spanish skills to help our diverse South Florida clientele feel welcome, informed, and comfortable.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience working in a veterinary practice or professional animal care environment preferred (but we will train the right attitude!).
  • Language: Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred to support our local community.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of animal behavior, safe handling techniques, and standard medical terminology.
  • Mindset: A compassionate, positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to jump in wherever help is needed.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
